At the heart of Tays Comprehensive Cancer Centre’s activities is constantly developing and personalised cancer treatment, which is supported by high-quality cancer research. The aim is to enhance research cooperation between the university’s researchers and clinical experts. This way, many new research findings can be translated into patients’ care quickly and efficiently.
- The operations of Tays Comprehensive Cancer Centre are guided by the Steering Group consisting of the representatives of its parent organisations.
- Clinical activities are developed and harmonised by the Clinical Working Group, whose task is to implement and promote the areas of clinical and diagnostic work that are part of the Wellbeing Services County of Pirkanmaa.
- The Scientific Working Group is responsible, in particular, for implementing those aspects of research development and its integration into clinical work that fall under the university’s competence and are included in the action plan.
- The patient perspective and participation in the development of the activities are represented by the Patient Board of the Tays Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
- The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) acts as an external group of scientific specialists to the Cancer Centre and advises us on the development of our scientific activities from an international perspective.
