At the heart of Tays Comprehensive Cancer Centre’s activities is constantly developing and personalised cancer treatment, which is supported by high-quality cancer research. The aim is to enhance research cooperation between the university’s researchers and clinical experts. This way, many research findings can be utilised in patient work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The operations of Tays Comprehensive Cancer Centre are guided by a steering group consisting of representatives of its background organisations. Clinical activities are developed and harmonised by a clinical working group, whose task is to implement and promote the areas of clinical and diagnostic work that are part of the Wellbeing Services County of Pirkanmaa. The scientific working group implements the areas of clinical work that are part of the development and integration of research in accordance with the action plan, especially those that are part of the university’s clinical work. The patient perspective and participation in the development of the activities are represented by the patient board of the Tays Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
